Good News & Bad News

the good news is, i have some really adorable pics to post pretty soon, like this little guy.

see, i told you he was adorable!!!
the bad news is that with school starting on monday and my new work schedule, it's really going to limit the number of clients i can take this fall.  i really hate to do it, but i'm only going to be able to take a few. sorry!  i'll do it on a first come, first serve basis.  so, if you want to be first on the list, just email me.  my rates are $95 for up to 5 people, an additional $25 per person after that.  it will include all the regular perks, like a disc of all the pics (with a guarantee of at least 30 different pics) and my faves being posted on here for friends and family to download for free.  the best part, for you one-stop-shoppers, is that now you can even order prints of the pics on my website for pretty cheap and have them delivered right to your door.

also, i finally got around to uploading all of the pics from my last post, which you can see here. enjoy!

A Very Special Family

every now and then you get the chance to meet someone who touches your heart.  i got to meet a whole family of such people.

chad and brendalyn are two of the most loving and amazing parents. after ten years of marriage, you can see that the love between them is stronger than ever.

mr. A is the sweetest big brother you can imagine. he brought along his toy dragons, which made for some fun pics.

miss A is a very special little girl. she underwent a major operation a couple of days after the shoot and is already up and about. her cuddles warm your soul and her sweet spirit touches your heart.

little O is a happy girl whose face lights up when she smiles. she is a bundle of love!

chad's parents were on hand to help out, so i took a few pics of them, as well. they were a huge help!

i had such a great time photographing this beautiful family!

Tip #3

the first thing i do after a shoot is upload my pics. shocking, right? ;)  well, right after that, i go through and delete the bad ones.  in my click-happy state of deleting the duds, i have to check myself before i delete some that are salvageable.  i came across a perfect example recently and thought, "hey! i should do a post about fixing bad pics!"  genius, huh?!? :)

here is a pic (completely untouched at this point) i took while i was playing around with my settings and it came out a bit overexposed.

just before i clicked "delete", i stopped and took a second look.  it dawned on me that in black and white this pic could be really amazing.  here's what the finished product looks like.

i absolutely love this pic! i'm so glad it didn't wind up in the trash! ha ha!

most computers come with a basic photo editing program that is perfectly capable of doing this type of salvage work, so don't feel like you need to fork out a couple hundred bucks for photoshop.  just be sure to think before you delete!

Back to Work

but, then again, i wouldn't consider this work. it's too fun to be called something so dreadful!

i recently had the chance to meet and photograph an adorable family of four.  natalia and rob have two beautiful children: little j, who is 3 years old, and baby r, who is three months old.

little j loved my "magic" lighting set.

and baby r was an angel, sleeping through most of the shoot.

thanks natalia and rob!!!
